OVERVIEW
The Radium Engineering pump hanger is an excellent solution for increasing the fuel flow on modified 2011+ Ford Mustang vehicles. It can be used with 1 or 2 aftermarket pumps, with several pump options available. This drop-in unit replaces the OE in-tank fuel pump module and is safe for use with alternative fuels such as E85.
Unlike many drop-in pump hangers on the market, the Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger features a carefully designed collector box that keeps fuel trapped around the fuel pump(s).

Inside, the fuel pumps are carefully packaged, along with the associated wiring and plumbing.

Fuel is fed out of the top plate through a single threaded port and low-profile adapter fitting. Fuel pressure is regulated inside the Radium hanger and is adjustable. The OEM fuel level sender is transferred onto the Radium hanger, so full functionality is retained.

The OEM fuel tank access cover and rear seat bench fit without modifications.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This fuel pump hanger is only sold without pumps pre-installed. Pumps must be installed by the end user/installer. Refer to the installation instructions linked above. Pumps may be purchased with the hanger, but they will not be pre-installed.

PREVENTING FUEL STARVATION
Several mechanisms work together to move fuel into the collector box and keep it full at all times. This ensures the pump(s) have adequate fuel available, even during aggressive driving. The internal pump(s) are supplied with fuel from 3 different sources: the venturi jet pump fuel scavenged from the passive side of the tank, the returned fuel from the integrated fuel pressure regulator, and the two 1-way fill valves on the bottom of the collector box (shown below). These valves allow fuel in, but not out.

VENTURI JET PUMP
The OEM venturi jet pump in the return line creates a restriction when using high flowing fuel pumps. Radium Engineering has redesigned the siphon system to eliminate this restriction but still effectively scavenge fuel. This means higher flowing pumps can safely be used without fuel pressure issues. Depending on fuel pressure, the venturi jet pump will consume 15-45 LPH from the feed line. Take this fuel loss into consideration when sizing the fuel pumps. Connection to the crossover venturi system is made easy with the provided SAE quick connections (shown below).

Also, if it is important for fuel pressure to hold steady after the engine is shut down, install one of these CHECK VALVES somewhere in the fuel system.

INTEGRATED FPR
The Radium fuel hanger features an integrated adjustable fuel pressure regulator. This means a single feed line out (no return) that dead heads at the fuel rail, just like the OE system. This makes the system a simple plug-n-play install into a Mustang with the OE feed line. The built-in regulator is designed to handle the high flow rates of aftermarket pumps.

For vehicles with forced induction needing 1:1 rising rate fuel pressure, the built-in regulator features a vacuum reference. If an intake manifold vacuum hose is connected, the built-in FPR will operate at a 1:1 ratio permitting fuel pressure to proportionally increase with manifold (boost) pressure. Conversely, the vacuum port can remain open to atmosphere and pressure will remain constant (like OEM).

For vehicles requiring a return style system, see the optional 20-0806 kit below.

NOTE: 2 fuel regulator return orifices are included for fine-tuning the desired fuel pressure to the fuel pumps' flow rate and potential hose plumbing restrictions. Refer to the installation instructions link above for more details.
If using the built-in regulator, it should be the ONLY regulator in the fuel system.

PLUMBING
OUTLET PORT
The outlet on the hanger is female threaded for 8AN ORB (3/4-16 O-ring).  Because the S197 uses a different fuel feed line connection than the S550 and S650, two unique low profile SAE quick connect fittings are provided. This can always be changed using an 8AN ORB fitting.

RETURN PORT
The return port is female threaded for 6AN ORB (9/16-18 O-ring). This port is only required to be used if the 20-0806 Fuel Hanger FPR Block-Off (see below) is installed and return line needs to be attached. A plug comes preinstalled in this port. Radium offers a variety of 6AN ORB adapter fittings that can be used in this port (sold separately) for return line connection.

FILTERING
Always install a sock filter to the fuel pump inlet(s). Compatible sock filters are located HERE. The fuel hanger eliminates the OEM post pump filter in the factory unit. A low micron aftermarket filter MUST be installed downstream to protect the injectors from debris.

ELECTRICAL
The custom designed stainless electrical studs easily handle the high current demand that compact multi-pin bulkhead connectors lack. These serviceable connections are hermetically sealed and impervious to all standard and exotic fuels. Non conductive anodized aluminum acorn nuts are provided to prevent any accidental short circuiting. Electrical hardware is included for the fuel pump(s) and OEM level sender. Furthermore, the in-tank wiring is insulated with high quality chemically resistant ETFE.

Depending on the specific model trim, the OEM fuel pump wiring is designed for 15-30 amps of current. Depending on the pump installed in the hanger, the fuel pump controller wiring can be reused for a single pump (only). Radium recommends upgrading the vehicle wiring to ensure the fuel pumps are operating at their full potential. Universal fuel pump wiring kits can be found HERE. Select one for each aftermarket pump used.

The OEM fuel level sensor secures to the collector box mount shown above.

PUMP COMPATIBILITY
To choose the correct fuel hanger version, first determine what fuel pump (or pumps) will be used. Use the link below, or contact Radium tech support: info@radiumauto.com. Once fuel pumps are decided, select the fuel pump hanger that is compatible with the chosen pumps.
NOTE: Fuel pumps are sold separately and will not come pre-installed.

The system is compatible with the following fuel pumps:
20-0802-00
Walbro F90000267
Walbro F90000274
Walbro F90000285
Deatschwerks DW400 (9-401)

20-0800-00
Walbro GSS342 255lph
AEM 50-1200

20-0801-00
Ti BKS1001 (brushless)

For assistance in selecting fuel pumps, CLICK HERE.

NOTE: Because the brushless E5LM fuel pump does not have an integrated check valve, P/N: 20-0801-00 contains two bolt-on check valves (shown above). This permits pump staging which is common when using multiple fuel pumps.

OPTIONAL FUEL REGULATOR BLOCK-OFF
This new Radium fuel pump hanger can be converted from a built-in regulator dead head system, to a return style system. We understand some users want to run an engine bay mounted regulator with a return line back to the tank. This kit makes that possible. The parts in this kit disable the built-in regulator allowing the use of an external regulator elsewhere in the system. The hanger top plate features a return port that can be used for the return line from the external regulator.

20-0806 FUEL HANGER FPR BLOCK-OFF

As shown above, a FKM O-ring, anodized aluminum plate, and stainless steel plug are included.
NOTE: A 6AN ORB fitting is required for the return port in order to attach a hose. Keep in mind, if the rear seat will be retained, this fitting must be low profile (example shown below).

NOTE: A fuel pressure regulator (not included) must be installed downstream in the system. This procedure is not discussed in the instructions.
